This is a STRONG recommend!! If you are still using MS Internet Explorer, STOP
and switch to FIREFOX and make it your default Browser! IE5 thru 6 has many security
issues; its doubtful Microsoft will ever get them all. FIREFOX is not a temporary fix but a
secure, solid and total replacement for Explorer. Get Firefox now and once again start
Browsing with peace of mind! FIREFOX is an open source product of the Mozilla.org

Occasionally a new product hits the streets that we find so useful we must mention it here.
These devices are called Thumb or Jump Drives. They are essentially mini hard drives
but without the moving parts. Most are smaller than a cigarette lighter and plug into a USB
port. If you are running W2000 or XP an upside is the driver is built into the device, W98
requires a drive install from a disk but its typically provided. They come in all storage
sized from 16mb to 4gb priced from $5 to $4000 dollars! This obsoletes Floppy drives!

The number of trojans, virii and worms infiltrating vi email attachments is on the rise again.
Some come in the form of screen savers, others HTML links with embedded java scripts
and yet others as conventional executable files. Much of this is coming from South Korea
and China. Other scams on the rise are messages (called Phishing) that convincingly appear
to come from your Net Provider or other establishments, wherein they want you to reveal
your account information. BE VIGILANT - BE ALERT - BE CAUTIOUS and BE SAFE!

Windows XP has been on the streets several months now.
The reaction is mixed and to either extreme. The operating system does appear
to be more stable than its predecessors yet its hard wired features seem to present
the typical tweaker with insurmountable customization challenges. Many are
ripping out the OS and returning to W98SE.
