VIEW - designed and created from the mind of K5HUM Copyright 2008 - All Rights Reserved G. Mike Raymond LATEST BUILD INFO: BETA RELEASE: 1.1.02 VIEW EXPLAINED: This standalone PopNote Extension utility (VIEW.EXE) is designed to display graphic images. VIEW is a tiny stand alone image viewer that can also be called from PopNote (or a standard shortcut). If you desire View to run and automatically display a special picture, rename the picture file to "default.jpg" and place it in the same folder with PopNote (and view.exe). That picture will be automatically displayed when VIEW is launched from the PicViewer submenu choice under PopNotes PopToys menu. Otherwise, if View is launched from a shortcut, it opens with a blank Window but has a built in picture browser reached from the File Menu's "Open a Picture" sub menu. VIEW can also accept a "command tail parameter" vi a shortcut's parameter line or from the RUN window. Example: "VIEW.EXE JOE.JPG" (less quotes) will cause VIEW to run and display JOE.JPG If you attempt to run VIEW from PopNote's "Pic Viewer" menu choice under "PopToys" and VIEW.EXE does not exist or is not in the same folder as PopNote, an error message to that effect will be displayed. A new PopNote FTP extension utility facilitates the ability of PopNote to allow the exchange and or transfer of files (including binary types) between users. In addition, FTP_PN is designed such that if a picture file is sent with either the ".JPG" or ".GIF" extension, the FTP utility will automatically open the PopNote VIEW utility at the destinations site and display the transmitted picture. The current release of view is limited to displaying complete pictures at or under 800x600 pixels. More accurately, pictures in excess of 800x600 will only have (x)800 by (y)600 pixels displayed with the remainder being truncated off to the right and bottom of View's screen. As time permits, I plan to embellish this and add additional features with future releases. BUG REPORTS: Every effort is made to insure each release of a PopNote Extension has passed muster with my proof of performance testing. However, as the complexity of single author development projects increase, it is practically impossible to guaranteed that some bugs will not slip through to a public releases. In that regard it is my pledge to make bug fixes and or maintenance releases available as soon as possible. Therefore, any information relative to new releases will be published in pnbnbug.txt which is available on the web 24/7 vi PopNotes Help Menu. -[30]-
